Why was Good Knight founded?

Our founder, EK, was born and raised in Singapore with maternal roots in Pahang, Malaysia. Shaped by his mother's tales of working in rubber plantations. He has a deep connection with nature and the influence of people on the land. EK was trained as a chemical engineer, and his career takes him all across the globe, from stints in petrochemicals plants in Asia and Europe to marketing of chemicals to the mattress and furniture industry. Environmentally conscious, EK observed a prevalent focus on profit over people and the planet in the mattress industry. To try and effect change, he began pursuing his mattress design - one that would be more comfortable, made of better quality materials, and designed for long-lasting use. This effort to look after people and the environment would become a driving force behind the ethos of Good Knight. Today, Good Knight continues to focus on customer experience and eco-activism in everything it does.

We place great emphasis on the quality and standards of our materials, as well as the carbon footprint we generate throughout our supply chain. That's why we're dedicated to sourcing only from responsible suppliers across the region.

All key mattress components are produced here in Southeast Asia and assembled by hand in Singapore.

Why are Good Knight mattresses more affordable than most other latex brands?

Our mission is to provide access to as many people as possible to the perfect mattress - affordable, comfortable, and sustainable. And to do so will mean making sure we work hard to keep our costs low. Any cost savings are passed along to the customers, making our mattress more affordable than most other latex brands.

Is Good Knight a Bed-in-a-Box Company?

No, our mattresses do not come to you in a tiny box.

Bed-in-a-box mattresses are compressed, shrink-wrapped, folded, and then rolled into a cardboard box for shipping. While this allows retailers to save on shipping and handling costs, the extended period of compression can take a severe toll on the mattress. Bed-in-a-box is also typically made of synthetic materials such as polyurethane foam and synthetic latex and never with 100% pure natural latex. While bed-in-box may make for a very profitable business for retailers, the idea of stuffing a premium mattress into a tiny box and the rampant use of materials that don't last long is not something we agree to.              

Good Knight mattresses are hand-delivered and assembled with care in your home by our team of trained professionals. They are never stuffed in a box and left outside your door.

Natural Latex Mattress

What is an all-latex mattress?

An all-latex mattress consists entirely of natural latex in its core. There are no synthetic latex blends, no polyurethane foam or metal coils or springs.

All-latex mattresses have increasingly become more popular because of their many benefits, including comfort, durability, responsiveness, and breathability.

What are the different types of latex?

There are primarily two types of latex used in mattresses: natural latex and synthetic latex.

Natural latex is derived from the sap of rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis) and processed using either the Dunlop or Talalay method. Natural latex is known for its superior comfort, pressure-relieving properties, durability, breathability, and hypoallergenic properties.

Synthetic latex is manufactured using petroleum-based chemicals and designed to mimic the properties of natural latex. Synthetic latex can be less expensive than natural latex but may not offer the same level of comfort or durability.

Additionally, there are latex blends that combine natural and synthetic latex to achieve a balance between performance and cost.

Many mattress brands have labeled or attempted to pass on their mattresses as ‘natural organic latex’ or ‘made from natural latex’ when in fact they contain synthetic foam.

Why is Dunlop latex used exclusively in all Good Knight mattresses?

The Dunlop process is used to make Good Knight mattress cores. It is the most natural way of producing latex cores and guarantees pure natural latex rubber.

The Talalay process does require additional chemicals to be used during the shipping of raw materials and in its manufacturing. It is uncommon to find a Talalay latex foam that is made from 100% natural latex and is typically blended with synthetics.

What is the difference between a latex and a memory foam mattress?

Latex mattresses offer a bouncy, responsive feel with good comfort, durability and breathability, making them suitable for those who prefer a more resilient surface.

Memory foam mattresses contour closely to the body, providing pressure relief and support but may retain heat more.

The choice will depends on personal preferences for feel, support needs, and budget.

What bed base should be used with a Good Knight mattress?

You can use your Good Knight mattress on any firm, stable base in good condition. You may also use a slatted base but ensure that the gaps between the slats are not more than 6 cm.

Can I use my Good Knight mattress on the floor?

Yes. An all-natural latex mattress requires a solid bed foundation. Therefore, laying your Good Knight mattress flat on the floor is perfectly acceptable. 

Do I need to flip or rotate my mattress regularly?

Flipping is not necessary with Good Knight mattresses as we only use pure 100% natural latex that delivers long-lasting performance in all of our mattresses.

If desired, you can choose to rotate your mattress although it is really not necessary.

Which is the best mattress for back pain?

When it comes to alleviating back pain, many individuals find relief with a medium-firm mattress comfort setup that offers both support and comfort.

Ultimately, the best mattress for back pain varies from person to person, so it's essential to consider your individual preferences and needs when making your selection. Additionally, consulting with a healthcare professional can provide valuable insight into finding the most suitable mattress for your specific back pain concerns.

Is a latex mattress hot to sleep on?

Natural latex mattresses are naturally breathable and promote good air circulation, making them less prone to trapping heat compared to many other mattress materials. While individual experiences may vary, many find latex mattresses to offer a cooler sleep surface than foam mattresses.

Should I use a mattress protector with my Good Knight mattress?

While a mattress protector isn't mandatory, it can serve as protection against spills, stains, and sweat. If you do choose to use a mattress protector, consider one that's made from a soft, breathable material like cotton or bamboo.

Are Good Knight mattresses compatible with adjustable bases?

Absolutely! Natural latex mattresses are flexible and resilient, making them a perfect match with an adjustable bed base.

Are the mattress covers washable?

Yes, we have designed our mattresses with fabric materials that are not only comfortable but also washable and durable. Our mattress covers can be machine-washed at 40 C and hang-dried away from direct sunlight. No tumble dry or putting them into a dryer.

How do I decide on the configurations with the customisable mattress models?

Does it matter which side of the latex faces up?

No, either side can be placed facing up. There will not be any noticeable difference in performance between the two sides.

Can I purchase new latex layers for my Good Knight mattress?

Yes. You can buy a new latex layer anytime to replace the existing layer, and to adjust the feel of your Good Knight mattress.

Custom Mattress

Do you customise mattress sizes?

Yes, we do. Good Knight specialises in custom mattress solutions for our customers. An additional charge will apply to custom orders.

What should I look out for when ordering a custom mattress?

When considering a custom mattress, look out for the following:

  • Shape and accessibility of your bedroom
  • The mattress height requirement
  • Type of bedframe or bed base used and any weight and size restriction
  • Choice of material e.g natural fibers vs polyester
  • Budget

Are custom mattresses expensive?

Custom mattresses will cost more than similar mattresses in standard sizes due to additional material and labour costs, and the longer time taken to design and create the mattress.

However, we always work hard to keep our prices reasonable and make our mattresses accessible. For example, many of the customisation work, including alteration, cutting, and sewing are done in-house, cutting on turnover time and reducing cost to you.

How long does it take to custom make a mattress?

We are committed to deliver the highest standard of customer service and quality. We will do our best to deliver our mattresses as quickly as possible.

While most mattress manufacturers will take a couple of months (very often longer) to deliver, we will usually complete our custom-made mattresses in 3 weeks or less. The lead time will be dependent on choice of materials, mattress size, design and construction, and its shape.

Natural Latex Pillows

How do I choose the right pillow?

The ideal pillow for you is the one that ensures proper alignment of your spine while you sleep. Consider factors, including your preferred sleeping position, desired firmness level, and any specific neck or back support requirements.

We suggest exploring our pillow options and trying out different styles to ensure optimal comfort and support for a restful night's sleep.

Do I need to use a pillow case?

While all Good Knight pillows come with removable and washable covers, we do recommend using a pillowcase to keep your pillow as fresh as possible. 

How do I clean my pillow?

Good Knight pillows come with a removable TENCEL cover that can be machine-washed at 40C.

Is it possible to schedule an appointment for a visit outside of your regular showroom hours?

If you can't visit our showroom during our standard operating hours, we're happy to accommodate after-hours mattress tryouts by appointment.

Does Good Knight have mattresses with different comfort setups for me to try in the showroom?

Yes. The display mattresses in our showroom are set up with different levels of firmness that you can test.

Our mattress showroom is open daily, except for major public holidays.

Do I need to make an appointment to visit the showroom?

While booking a visit to our showroom is not required, we strongly encourage it to ensure you receive an exclusive and uninterrupted mattress tryout experience during your visit.

How should I prepare for my mattress tryout at your showroom?

We recommend the following:

1. Schedule an appointment: While not mandatory, booking a visit ensures we can provide you with personalized attention and an undisturbed experience.

2. Dress comfortably: Wear clothing that allows you to move freely and lie down comfortably on the mattresses. This will help you get a better sense of how each mattress feels.

3. Bring a pillow: If you have a favourite pillow, consider bringing it along to the showroom. Testing mattresses with your pillow can provide a more accurate representation of how the mattress will feel during sleep.

4. Allow ample time: Plan to spend enough time at the showroom to thoroughly test each mattress configuration you're considering. Take your time to lie down in different positions and assess comfort and support.

5. Ask questions: Our showroom staff are super friendly and here to help you answer any questions you may have about our mattresses. Don't hesitate to ask for recommendations or additional information to help you make an informed decision.

Purchasing and Payment

Do you offer discounts if I purchase more than one mattress?

Yes. You will be entitled to discounts if you purchase more than one mattress. Please contact us at the time of ordering to get your discount code. 

In addition to our great value, we will occasionally offer promotional sales on our mattresses and products. You can be one of the first to learn about our latest sales by signing up for our mailing list at our website footer. You can choose to unsubscribe at any time. 

How can I make changes to my order?

Simply reach out to us and let us know what changes are needed. We are here to help you with any changes that you may need.

Can I use multiple discount codes when products are on sale?

Unfortunately, we do not accept discount codes to be combined.

How do I track my order?

You will be notified of the order status via the contact details provided. You may also track the status of your order by contacting our Customer Service team. 

Why have I not received my order confirmation?

You will receive an email confirmation within minutes of placing your order. Check the spam folder of your email account if you have not received the email. 

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Contact us to find out what payment plan we may have for you. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required.

Delivery & Shipping

Does my mattress come fully assembled?

Your brand-new Good Knight mattress will come in layers that will be constructed by our team of trained professionals in the bedroom of your choice. The assembly will take about 15 minutes and no tools required.

When can you deliver my mattress?

The usual lead time for delivery is 3 working days. Delivery time is Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm. We do not deliver on Sundays, eve of public holidays and public holidays. 

How can I reschedule my delivery?

No problem! If you need to change your delivery date and time, you can inform us at least 1 day in advance. If you need to cancel, you won’t be charged a fee. 

Do you charge for delivery and installation?

Delivery and assembly is free for purchases above $200 to a single location. 

There will be a delivery charge of $10 per location for purchases $200 and below. 

Can you take away my old mattress?

Yes, we can remove your old mattress for you. But we will need to charge a fee for mattress removal and disposal. Contact us for more information on removal and disposal of used mattresses.

Product Care Instructions

How do I clean the mattress?

We recommend using a mattress protector and washing your bedding once a week to keep your mattress fresh. In addition, you should vacuum your mattress a few times a year with the upholstery attachment of your vacuum cleaner.

How do I protect my mattress from stains and spills?

We highly recommend a mattress protector or a mattress pad to keep your mattress clean and protected.

Warranty

What is your warranty for mattresses?

Your new Athena Mattress, Marina Mattress, and Inoa Mattress are covered by a 20-year limited warranty. The Aelia Baby Cot Mattress and Neva Natural Latex Mattress Topper are covered by a 10-year limited warranty.  

How can you offer a 20-year warranty while other retailers are only offering 10 or 15 years?

Good question. We offer a longer warranty over most, if not all other retailers simply because Good Knight mattress is designed to last and built with better quality materials.

When we started Good Knight, we wanted to create a mattress that is comfortable, affordable, and durable. Not only do we create an incredible amount of value for our customers, we will also be able to fulfill our mission of ensuring a more responsible way of consuming our planet's resources. In fact, we believe our mattress may be the last mattress you will ever need to buy and we have a warranty to back this up.

What does your warranty cover?

Our warranty covers for defects due to faulty workmanship and materials, with the exceptions of excessive wear and tear, stains, misuse, or improper maintenance, alteration, or repair by unauthorized representatives.

What should I do if I have receive a defective or damaged product?

At Good Knight, we take great pride in the quality of our products. Every item is carefully inspected before delivering to the customer. We encourage you to do the same upon receipt of your purchased items as well.

If you found your purchase to be defective or damaged upon receiving it, simply contact us to make a claim. Take note that any claims must be supported with the proof of purchase.
