Hang dry away from direct sunlight.
Do not bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not iron.
Clean and vacuum mattress regularly using low suction.
If necessary, the latex can be spot cleaned with warm soap and water, a white vinegar and water solution, or a mild natural detergent.

Side Sleeper

I’d give a 6/5 if I could!
First up it’s half the price of a Heveya, and the layers are fully customizable so you (definitely) get a bigger bang for your buck. I’ve been sleeping on this mattress for >1month and have nothing but amazing reviews about it - sleep so well every night! Lastly the teams service is very authentic, friendly, patient and customer centric, none of that corporate nonsense you get from other companies. I highly recommend!

Why does Athena have three latex layers?

The third layer gives Athena a deeper 22.5 cm profile and allows for more comfort combinations than a two-layer mattress. By combining and rearranging layers of different firmness, Athena can be configured from plush-soft to firm.

Three layers do not necessarily make the mattress softer or firmer. The final feel of the Athena depends on the firmness and arrangement of each layer.

Can couples choose different comfort levels on each side?

Yes. King-size Athena mattresses can be configured with a different comfort level on each side, allowing both sleepers to enjoy their preferred feel within the same mattress.

What are the standard configurations for each comfort level?

The latex comes in 4 firmness levels: 1) super-soft; 2) soft; 3) medium and 4) firm. Our standard recipe are:

Plush-soft: super-soft over soft over medium

Medium-soft: soft over medium over firm

Balanced medium: medium over medium over firm

Medium-firm: medium over firm over firm

Firm: Firm over firm over firm latex

How long does the assembly of the Athena take?

About 10-15 minutes. We recommend having two people for assembly, but this is not strictly necessary. For assembly instructions watch our assembly video above.

Is latex mattress hot to sleep on?

Natural latex mattresses are naturally breathable and promote good air circulation, making them less prone to trapping heat compared to many other mattress materials. While individual experiences may vary, many find latex mattresses to offer a cooler sleep surface than foam mattresses.

Does a natural latex mattress have a smell?

Brand new natural latex may have a mild rubber-like scent when first unpacked. This is the natural scent of latex rubber rather than the chemical off-gassing commonly associated with some synthetic foams such as memory foam mattresses.

The scent is not harmful and should become less noticeable with normal ventilation and use.

What is the ideal firmness for me?

The role of a good mattress is to ensure that you sleep comfortably and get good spinal support during sleep. The ideal mattress for you will depend on many factors, including your physique, height and weight, and sleeping posture.

In general, side sleepers will like a softer mattress since their shoulders and hips push further down into the mattress. Stomach sleepers will sleep better with a firmer mattress while back sleepers will generally require a medium to medium-firm mattress.

The benefit of a Good Knight mattress is that you don't need to stress about it. Start with your best guess. Then change a layer for free without the need to return and buy a whole new mattress.

Does natural latex sag over time?

Like all cushioning materials, natural latex will soften gradually with regular use. However, high-quality natural latex is known for its resilience and generally retains its shape and support better than conventional polyurethane foam.

Athena’s modular construction also means that individual layers can be rearranged or replaced if your comfort needs change over time.

Do you customise mattress sizes?

Yes, in fact, we specialise in custom mattress solutions for our customers. We can customize the size of your Athena Mattress for an additional fee. All customised orders have a usual lead time of 2-4 weeks.

What's included with my Athena mattress?

Your Athena mattress comes with three latex foam layers encased in a zippered mattress cover.

What type of frame can the Athena be used on?

You can use your Good Knight mattress on any firm, stable base in good condition. You may also use a slatted base but ensure that the gaps between the slats are between 5 and 7.5 cm.

Is Athena suitable for an adjustable bed?

Yes. Athena’s flexible, spring-free construction allows it to bend and move with an adjustable bed base. Ensure that the mattress and base are compatible in size and that the base provides sufficient, even support.

Always follow the adjustable bed manufacturer’s recommendations for mattress compatibility and use.
